Simon has been filming for the BBC Proms 2010. Shooting in HD on the Sony HDW750 over 3 days in Liverpool. Working with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the UK’s oldest surviving professional symphony orchestra, shooting a 9 minute VT insert for TX due in July on BBC 2 and the BBC HD channel.

Simon has just taken delivery of the Canon EOS 5D mark II.  The camera  complements outstanding still imaging capabilities with Full HD (1080) video recording. You can even shoot video to memory card without losing the ability to capture still images. Simon will carry this in his van so if you ever need a production still all you need to do is ask!!!

Dancing On Ice

New Crew Vehicle


Simon has just taken delivery of a brand new crew vehicle. The black Mercedes Vito Sport  (otherwise known as the A Team van) has a host of impressive features including seating for up to 4 people, Full mains electric, DVD system, 19in Monitor in the rear storage area and even tea and coffee making facilities oh and I forgot the fridge with cold drinks and bars of chocolate.

60 Minute Makeover



From April 2009 Simon will be embarking on his next TV assignment, ITV1 60 Minute Makeover.


The popular makeover show is back for its 7th series. With a commission for 140 episodes filming countrywide. Simon has been given the task of camera supervising 70 episodes for the Northern production based out of Manchester.


Filming starts in April and finishes early October 2009 filming 3 episodes a week. Simon has had to invest heavily in new equipment for the show.


Simon says of the venture; “This is a very exciting project for me to be involved in and I am looking forward to supervising the show and been able to get heavily involved in the production from start to finish.


The series is being shot this year on 2 Digibeta cameras and 3 fixed DV cameras which are fixed around the house.


The series is being produced by ITV Productions and series produced by Simon Paintin.
